Brief Biography

Henry J. “Hank” Mayer, Ph.D., is the former Executive Director of the National Center for Neighborhood & Brownfields Redevelopment, the Center for Transportation Safety, Security & Risk and Faculty Fellow at the E.J. Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy, Rutgers University. He is retired and a consultant to CRESP with regard to its Department of Energy projects.

Dr. Mayer has extensive experience in the corporate, academic, and government arenas, with a focus over the past fifteen years on the large and complex environmental, infrastructure, and capital financing issues associated with the redevelopment of many of the country’s older cities and towns. His recent work has included examining the human health risks and challenges being faced by the U.S. Department of Energy’s environmental management cleanup efforts at the nation’s former nuclear weapons sites.
